It's time to pick hops again! Join us for our 3rd Annual Fresh Hop Harvest at Lantern! This Sunday (Sept 16th), our shipment of freshly cut whole hop bines (entire plant—stem, leaves, and all) will arrive and we'll start plucking the hop flowers for our 2018 Fresh Hop brew.
Pluckers are welcome starting at 2pm and we'll pick and continue the community harvest throughout the afternoon and evening until the hops are all ready to go. Come in anytime! We are brewing a batch of Fresh Hop Saison during the event-- it's a "live brewing performance" and we'll be loading hops into the brew kettle as they're ready! If we can harvest enough by the end of the brew, we will also load hops into oak barrels for a Wet Hop Saison, with a live demo of barrel-working technique.
All are welcome; no experience is necessary, and tools and gloves will be provided. There will be safety-based limitations for the younger set on what tasks can be done (and close parent supervision please!), but everyone who wants to play a role will have plenty to do and plenty of fun!
