Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center!
Session 1: 12-4pm | Session 2: 5:30-9:30 pm Buy Tickets!
On Saturday, February 2nd the 10th Annual Belgian Fest will take place at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion highlighting 100+ Belgian-style beers crafted by Washington breweries. Featured beer styles include Tripels, Dubbels, Saisons, Wits, Abbeys and Lambics.
Lantern is proud to be serving at our 6th Belgian Fest! Here’s what we’ll be pouring, come see us:
Orondo Furioso, Apricot Tripel (10.9% a/v) We stuffed whole, fresh apricots from Orondo, WA into oak barrels, then doused them with our Abbey-style Tripel, enabling a second fermentation and long conditioning on oak. You’ll find the aroma and flavor of whole apricots against a background of wood and spice, with a tart finish.
Gyrophare [1st Session], Tart Cherry Saison (6.2% a/v) We loaded whole, fresh Washington Montmorency tart cherries into oak wine barrels and extracted all the sweet and sour goodness through a second fermentation on our rustic wheat and barley ale base. It is aromatic, colored rosé red, and spins through 360° of flavor from the cherries (fruit, skin, and pit), finishing with a balanced and lightly sour touch.
Cabaret Sauvage, Ale with Wine Grapes (7.8% a/v) A hybrid wine-ale, we re-fermented a dark ale base in oak puncheons for 14 months with whole, fresh Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes from the Yakima Valley. Enticingly burgundy-hued, with a complex, vinous aroma, it expresses raisin, fruit-skin-spice, port-like, oaky, and floral flavors, culminating in a delightfully dry and clean finish.
Voyageur, Two-Year Double Pale Ale (7.7% a/v) In 2016 we barreled a freshly brewed double pale ale, and sent it on a (figurative) voyage in oak vessels. After a 2 ½ year trip, the body gained tartness and acidity that complements the citrusy hop, becoming even more aromatic and flavorful with notes of oak, vanilla, sugarcane, dried stone fruit, and whiskey-like caramel.
Sombre 2018, Abbey-style Quadrupel (11.4% a/v) Aged in oak wine and brandy barrels for over a year and emerging dark and robust, this "double Dubbel," opens with a lightly spirituous aromatic note, proceeds to dark caramel, bittersweet chocolate, wood, and spice flavors, and finishes each sip with gentle alcoholic warmth.
Join us downtown at Seattle Beer Company for a tap takeover featuring a local brewery. Three of our beers will be on tap, and our head brewer will be there to talk about all things beer and answer any questions about our unique beer styles. Word has it there will also be fun raffles/prizes!

Come celebrate the Winter Solstice at Lantern with an amazing lineup of special beer choices reflecting the culmination of darkness and a return to lighter days.
To represent the darker side of this season we'll offer a vertical tasting of 4 years of our dark and complex Abbey style Quadrupel: Sombre 2015, 2016, 2017, and our newly-released Sombre 2018, aged in oak wine and spirits barrels.
To celebrate a return to the light, we'll have a trio of our sunny Abbey style Tripels: our standard-bearer Tripel, our Orondo Furioso barrel-aged Tripel with apricots, and our fan favorite Cavalcade, an apple-brandy barrel aged Tripel.
There will be special tasting flights offered on these seven special ales, and regular (half) pours available as well. Due to very limited quantities, growler fills will not be available on the Sombres, Orondo Furioso, or Cavalcade.
This will be a special and memorable night of tasting extraordinary beer, offered only once a year. Please join us if you're able; please also note that these specials are heavyweight choices, so as always ensure you've got a DD/Lyft/Uber/walk home plan.
It's time to pick hops again! Join us for our 3rd Annual Fresh Hop Harvest at Lantern! This Sunday (Sept 16th), our shipment of freshly cut whole hop bines (entire plant—stem, leaves, and all) will arrive and we'll start plucking the hop flowers for our 2018 Fresh Hop brew.
Pluckers are welcome starting at 2pm and we'll pick and continue the community harvest throughout the afternoon and evening until the hops are all ready to go. Come in anytime! We are brewing a batch of Fresh Hop Saison during the event-- it's a "live brewing performance" and we'll be loading hops into the brew kettle as they're ready! If we can harvest enough by the end of the brew, we will also load hops into oak barrels for a Wet Hop Saison, with a live demo of barrel-working technique.
All are welcome; no experience is necessary, and tools and gloves will be provided. There will be safety-based limitations for the younger set on what tasks can be done (and close parent supervision please!), but everyone who wants to play a role will have plenty to do and plenty of fun!
About FIre & Scrape - Dating from the year 1291 in the Alpine regions of Switzerland and France, Raclette (derived from the word Racler - meaning to scrape) is food theater that fires a variety of fatty Raclette cheeses and scrapes it over creamy new potatoes, French cornichons and pickled onions.
