Seattle-Nantes Sister City Beer - 8000km Collab
8000 KM COLLAB
Available in draft and bottles Wed, July 7, 2021.
When Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association (SNSCA) reached out to us in Fall 2020 about a collaboration beer project with a brewery in Nantes, France - we were thrilled to participate!
This collaborative project is the result of nearly a year of discussions and planning between Bubar Brasserie in Nantes, France, and Lantern Brewing, Seattle, Washington. The brew was conceived as a way to help mark the 40th anniversary of City Sisterhood between Nantes and Seattle. Though we were 8000 kilometers (5000 miles) apart, we feel like we got to know our Nantais compatriots through the many hours of discussion and planning. Our trans-Atlantic team chose the ingredients to represent Nantes (French sea salt, sel de Guerande) and Seattle (cranberries, Long Beach/SW Washington) in the delicious Gose ale, for a minerally, rich-but-light summertime ale with plenty of flavor but a light body and reasonable ABV.
Founded in 1980, the Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association (SNSCA) is a nonprofit organization that works to advance cultural and educational relations between the people of Seattle and Nantes, France.
